For Hét VisumBuro, the assignment began with stabilizing the website to enable scaling and connecting with chain partners. Over time, this became much more complex, and the website had to be completely rebuilt to offer flexible integration with third-party travel partners. Phase 1 involved resolving a memory leak to ensure immediate continuity. During Phase 2, the embedded XML database was isolated (remotely placed) to allow the front-end to be rebuilt while the store remained open. And in the final phase, the XML database was phased out and replaced with a MySQL database. The website is now available in three languages, also offers the client’s product/service as a white label, and is integrated with the ANWB, Vakantie.NL, a (yet to be released) website from BCD Travel, and Terra Travel. The website supports the completion of forms, which can be designed using a graphical tool. These forms are displayed dynamically on the website. Completed applications are imported into the BackOffice, where they can be printed as PDFs after review. The website offers various payment options, including iDeal and credit card. A connection with Ogone has been established for this purpose.
