In a follow-up project (part of a larger project) at RN, I served as a “coaching” team leader, giving a “colleague” the opportunity to gain experience as a team leader. My main task was developing the “final” part of IRIS, a module for planning community service projects and scheduling community service recipients. To solve this scheduling problem, I applied aspects of functional programming in Java, which allowed me to keep a very complex problem manageable with significantly less code and significantly less complexity.
